. 0 sharesDestiny’s Iron Banner event will go live following the November update on Tuesday, but there will be some changes, namely the event will now use Clash as its PvP mode.Since its debut back in 2014, Destiny’s Iron Banner has been a regular treat for Crucible fans. Obviously it doesn’t offer the type of intensity that does, but the mode still has its appeals, namely special Iron Banner gear.However, for the first time in the history of Iron Banner, Bungie is doing something a little different. Rather than using the usual Control mode for the PvP event, Iron Banner will use the 6v6 mode Clash.While Iron Banner has favored the objective-based Control since its inception, Bungie is hoping that the introduction of Clash will shake things up a bit. More specifically, the Destiny developer hopes that Clash will take the focus away from endless Super use and more towards gunfights. That makes sense considering Control tends to concentrate players in specific areas on the battlefield, whereas Clash opens things up.It’s unclear how the Destiny fan base will respond to the switch, but we think it could be a solid shot in the arm for Iron Banner. Since the mode doesn’t offer gear on par with, the only true incentive to play Iron Banner is for a different PvP experience.

Bungie has yet to fully detail the update, but they did confirm it would return the ‘Quiver’ ability to Nightstalker Hunters. As some may remember, after players began exploiting it with endless Super use.Alongside the fix to Nightstalker, the November update will also improve Iron Banner rewards across the board; ensuring players get regular drops and even packages. It wasn’t until Iron Banner launched last month that Bungie realized, and so they have taken steps to improve them.
The changes include:. Iron Banner reputation from winning matches increased by 20%. Activity completion rewards increased at all ranks, with even more significant increases at Rank 2 and above. Packages from Lord Saladin upon reaching Rank 3 and Rank 5. Iron Banner Artifacts can be obtained from the Rank 3 package. Iron Banner Ghost Shells can be obtained from the Rank 5 package or activity completion rewardsOverall, it sounds like Iron Banner will be a more rewarding experience for players, and they won’t have to worry about buying Iron Banner gear moving forward.
In our experience, players were lucky if they got one of each type of drop during their week-long Iron Banner experience, and getting a second drop was pretty rare.With these new changes, however, it sounds as if the drops should be a bit more regular, offering players a variety of options.
