Recording internal audio, which is inside the software, in patterns or in the playlist, and recording external audio, outside the software. If IN has (none), it means that the input comes from FL Studio 11 only, without any extra sources. If you connect the computer to any microphone, this will be listed through the ASIO device. However this will be an extra source. You will hear in output both what comes from the FL Studio player and what from the microphone at the same time. If you want to hear just what comes from the microphone, make sure to have the player stopped. The same works for OUT. If you have other outputs, simply select them from the list.

This chooses the output, so where the sound must exit. So to record vocals, simply choose the Master channel, then a microphone in IN, and activate recording through the Edison window. Start speaking, and when you finish click again on the record button.

In similar ways you can import the sound from external instruments or keyboards, just remember to activate an ASIO device and choose the right input port connected to the instrument.
